AMES, Iowa — Leeds West Groups (LWG) plans to add a Big O location in Ames, its 13th location in Iowa.
The Greenwood Village-Colo.-based group said it has signed a lease and will convert an existing automotive-service facility into a Big O retail location. The store is expected to open in the first quarter of 2023. Financial details were not disclosed.
This marks the fourth Big O location LWG has added in Iowa since mid-August, when it acquired three other Big O locations — in Altoona, Ankeny and Urbandale — from Willis Automotive Group, based in Clive.
LWG now operates nine auto service retail locations in the Des Moines, Iowa, area, including five Midas locations.
In late September, LWG announced it had acquired a Midas in Nebraska, making it the sole Midas franchisee in the Cornhusker State. That came after LWG acquired a franchised Midas location in west central Omaha from West Center Auto Repair Inc.
LWG now operates 122 locations, including 83 Midas and 39 Big O locations across 18 states.
LWG also operates several SpeeDee Oil franchises.
