OKLAHOMA CITY — Love's Travel Stops plans to open 40-plus locations during 2022, about half of which will offer Love's Truck Care or Speedco services on site, the company said this week.
The openings — which will add more than 3,000 truck parking spaces and 3,000 jobs — will expand the company's network of stores to roughly 620 locations in 41 states, including 440 or so that have Truck Care or Speedco on site.
The pronouncement follows a challenging but successful 2021, Love's Travel said.
The company targeted 50 new locations throughout the year and ended up opening 38 with over 3,000 truck parking spaces. It also donated several million dollars to support its core customer base — professional truck drivers, sick and homeless children, veterans and more.
"This year, we will continue to improve the amenities and services our customers have come to love and expect when they stop at our locations, new features will also be added that we think will wow them," Love's President Shane Wharton said.
"Our customers and team members made last year a great one, and we expect the same for this year, as we continue to get customers back on the road quickly and safely," he said.
Love's did not disclose a budget estimate for the openings.
Love's claims its network of Love's Truck Care and Speedco locations is the nation's largest commercial-sector oil change and preventive maintenance network with 1,500 maintenance bays at 420 locations.
Founded in 1964, the Oklahoma City-based company remains family-owned and operated and employs more than 34,000 people. The company does not disclose revenue or other financials.
Love's carries eight brands of tires at its Love's Truck Care and Speedco outlets: BFGoodrich, Bridgestone, Continental, Double Coin, Goodyear, Hankook, Michelin and Yokohama, along with Love's own Oliver Rubber system retreads.
