OKLAHOMA CITY — Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores opened six Speedco tire and truck mechanical services locations recently at existing Travel Stops in six states as part of the firm's strategy to build the service part of its business.
The Speedco outlets typically feature three service lanes, dedicated to lube, repair and tire services. They are open 24/7 and also offer DOT inspections, for professional drivers and fleets at affordable costs, Love's said.
"We're continuing to add new products and services to help get professional drivers back on the road quickly and safely so they can continue to deliver essential goods throughout the country," Gary Price, executive vice president of Love's Truck Care business operations, said.
The new locations offer lobby bay monitors so drivers can monitor the services being performed and the time they take to complete. The new Speedco sites are located in:
- Jacksonville, Fla., at the intersection of I-10 and State Route 301;
- Napoleon, Ohio, along State Route 24 southwest of Toledo;
- Bliss, Idaho, at the intersection if I-84 and State Route 30;
- Valley City, N.D., along I-94 between Bismarck and Fargo;
- Hamilton, Ala., along I-22 east of Tupelo, Miss.; and
- Channahon, Ill., near the I-55/I-80 interchange.
Love's did not disclose its investment in building these new facilities, which add to the network of Love's Travel Stops with either a Speedco or Love's Truck Care on site, which numbers over 400.
Love's Travel Stops disclosed plans in January to open as many as 50 travel stops in 2021, including more than 30 with Love's Truck Care or Speedco preventive maintenance and tire services on site.
Collectively, the Love's Truck Care and Speedco locations operate over 1,500 maintenance bays. Love's carries 10 brands of tires at its Love's Truck Care and Speedco outlets: BFGoodrich, Bridgestone, Continental, Dayton, Double Coin, Goodyear, Hankook, Kelly, Michelin and Yokohama, along with Love's own Oliver Rubber system retreads.
