ARVADA, Colo. — Big O Tires and Midas International franchisee Leeds West Groups (LWG) has acquired an automotive repair shop in Arvada, Colo., currently operating under the Tires Plus banner, and plans to rebrand it Midas before year-end.
LWG said this location, on Olde Wadsworth Boulevard near downtown Arvada, will be its third Midas outlet in that Denver-area "home-rule municipality," and eighth in the greater Denver metro area.
The company said it expects to reopen the eight-bay building as a franchised Midas store by December, upon termination of the lease with Tires Plus, a Bridgestone Retail brand. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The location will be under the district management of Mindy Chavez, who's based in LWG's Denver Midas region.
"We are thrilled to be adding another location in the Colorado market. Not only in terms of store count and real estate growth, but in continuing to create synergy with our existing locations," LWG CEO Judd Shader said.
"When we have the opportunity to turn over a location to one of our flagship brands, we take that as a win. We look forward to better serving the Arvada community for many years to come."
Located northwest of Denver, Arvada is part of the Denver-Aurora-Lakewood Metropolitan Statistical Area. Its population is approximately 120,000.
Greenwood Village, Colo.-based LWG also has nine Big O Tires and one SpeeDee Automotive outlet in the Denver area.
LWG's Midas footprint is now 80 locations nationally, with a total of 106 locations across all brands and 1,000-plus employees. Additionally, this capital investment into LWG Automotive Division Real Estate marks the 15th transaction within the last 24 months.
With 106 retail tire and auto service locations, LWG is among the 15 largest such dealerships in the U.S., according to Tire Business calculations.
There are seven other Tires Plus outlets in Colorado.
