COLOMBO, Sri Lanka — Solid-tire producer Laugfs Rubber Pvt. Ltd. has hired industry veteran Gary Stevens to be its director of sales and marketing.
Stevens has more than 40 years of experience, most recently as the president of sales for the materials-handling tire division at specialty tire maker Global Rubber Industries Pvt. Ltd. (GRI).
Colombo-based Laugfs Rubber exports tires to more than 40 countries, including the U.S. and Europe. The company said it operates a state-of-the-art, environmentally friendly factory, which generates energy through solar panels. It has earned the Total Quality Management (TQM) certification to produce REACH-compliant, solid tires.
Laugs said it also has received the ISO 9001-2015 certification for policy management, ISO 50001-2011 certification for energy management, and ISO 14001-2015 for environment management.
The company recently unveiled the 23.5-25 Loader Grip tires, the largest tire size (2,420 pounds) to be manufactured in Sri Lanka, according to the firm. Laugfs said it offers a range of material handling solid resilient and press-on industrial tires to suit the broad spectrum of customers.
