ATLANTA — Kumho Tire U.S.A has donated $100,000 to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation for immediate use in wildfire disaster relief and recovery efforts supporting evacuees and first responder.
"We are devastated to see the impact the wildfires have had on the greater Los Angeles area," CEO Edmund Cho said. "We are keeping the people affected in our thoughts and through this donation, we hope to help bring relief and support to the Los Angeles Fire Department as they continue to fight."
Cho visited the Los Angeles region and personally handed a check to the CEO of the Foundation at its headquarters in January.
The donation will help equip Los Angeles Fire Department members battling wildfires with needed tools and supplies.
"We are incredibly grateful for the support that Kumho Tire has provided," Liz Lynn, president of the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, said. "This donation will help ensure the firefighters will get the equipment they need."
Atlanta-based Kumho Tire U.S.A. is the U.S. sales, marketing and distribution arm of South Korea's Kumho Tire Co. Inc. The company has a warehouse in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.
