Founded by Ken Langhals in 1970, Delphos-based K&M Tire is a leading U.S. tire distributor, with more than 40 brands of passenger, light truck and medium truck tires, and more than a dozen brands of agricultural, industrial and specialty tires.
K&M has 42 distribution centers in 20 states, and is part of the Best-One Tire network.
In September, K&M expanded with its fifth acquisition in as many years, when it bought Lancaster, Pa.-based wholesaler K&W Tire Inc. At the time, K&M President Cheryl Gossard said the company wanted to expand its distribution footprint in the Northeast market.
In the K&W deal, K&M acquired six distribution centers in Allentown, Chester and Lancaster, Pa.; Claremont, N.H.; Ayer, Mass.; and Beacon Falls, Conn.
K&M also named a new executive vice president last year, welcoming Jon Zurcher to the post in April. Zurcher had been chief operating officer for Monroe, Ind.-based Best-One Tire.
