TAIPEI, Taiwan — The Executive Council of Taiwan has honored Kenda Rubber Industrial Co. Ltd. with a "Best Practice Award" for manufacturing quality.
This award recognizes Taiwanese businesses that demonstrate high-quality management and is the only award for business quality issued by the Executive Council, a part of the Taiwan federal government's executive branch.
Kenda is one of 15 companies to earn the award this year.
"At Kenda, we are relentless in our pursuit of excellence across all aspects of our business," Kenda Chairman and President Jimmy Yang said.
"We are tremendously honored to have the quality of our manufacturing facilities be recognized for its efficiency, quality and innovation by the Executive Council and hope to serve as a role model for other companies."
To be considered for a Taiwanese National Quality Award, a company must demonstrate "outstanding" performance in business, set a benchmark for others to learn from, elevate the overall quality level and create a good organization image.
Founded in 1962, Kenda is among the 25 largest tire makers globally today, based on fiscal 2020 revenue of $1.08 billion, generated by sales of bicycle, motorcycle, industrial, lawn/garden, recreational vehicle, ATV and passenger/light truck tires. It's represented in North America American Kenda Rubber Industrial Co. Ltd. of Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
