ELKHART, Ill. — Kenda Americana Tire & Wheel (ATW) has added a pair of aluminum wheels, AM03 and AM04, for the growing recreational vehicle and marine trailer markets.

According to Kenda ATW the aluminum wheels "are perfectly positioned for the RV, marine and trailer industries, which represents exploration, outdoor adventuring, freedom and fun."

The new wheel design capitalizes on the resurgent popularity of RV travel and boat ownership, the booming sales of RVs and trailers and the influx of millennial boat and RV owners who care about aesthetics.

These market forces prompted Kenda ATW to design appealing high-end tire and wheel assemblies to reflect consumer tastes, it said.

"Style-conscious millennials are clamoring to the RV/boat trailer market and bringing with them tastes honed in the car/truck and motorsport markets where there is infinite variety in wheel fashion. They expect the same for their RVs and boats — they're passionate about wheel aesthetics," Kenda ATW President Dave Craig said.

"We designed the stylish AM03 and AM04 wheels to give RV, marine and trailer manufacturers/distributors beautiful new options to meet the expectations of these exacting consumers."

The wheels — available only through Kenda ATW — are available in six sizes for trailer tires and are made of cast alloy aluminum for balance and performance with lower rolling resistance. Aluminum wheels also offer corrosion resistance and are light weight, which can mean more load capacity which can increase overall fuel efficiency, according to Kenda ATW.

Both series have met SAE J1204 testing specifications ensuring performance standards.

The new wheels come in several colors" including including matte black, all black gloss, gun metal and silver — automotive grade paint with a clear coat finish. Many colors are available with machined accents creating eight finish options.

The aluminum wheels are durable and won't chip, crack, peel or rust, according to Kenda ATW.

Elkhart-based Kenda ATW is a division of Taiwan's Kenda Rubber Co. Ltd., serving original equipment manufacturers and distributors in the towable trailer, utility, RV, marine and agricultural industries.
