KINGSTON, Pa. — Jack Williams Tire Co. Inc. has acquired the equipment sales and service division of lubricant and oil distributor PetroChoice Lubrication Systems, which has been rebranded JTW Equipment Specialists.
The transaction will allow JWT Equipment Specialists the ability to offer a line of automotive service equipment, which includes selling, installing and servicing, Jack Williams Tire said.
Kingston, Pa.-based Jack Williams will continue to distribute garage supplies, as well as alignment and tire-changing equipment manufactured by Hunter Engineering Co. and Hennessy Industries L.L.C.'s Coats.
According to Jack Williams, the JWT Equipment Specialists division also will sell, install and service equipment for Rotary Lifts, Corghi USA Inc. tire changers and balancers, Excel Tire Gauge Co. tire inflators, Champion air compressors, Cleanburn waste oil burners, MacroAir fans, shop exhaust systems and Samson and Graco lubrication storage and handling equipment.
JWT Equipment Specialists is bringing on 21 employees from PetroChoice to the division who have more than 280 years of combined automotive equipment experience. The company will have around a dozen technicians to provide onsite factory authorized service and installation throughout Eastern Pennsylvania, Southern New York, Northern Maryland, Delaware and New Jersey.
Jack Williams Tire said the acquisition shows its "commitment to position itself for sustainable growth to propel it into the future and to continue to remain a leader in the tire and automotive industry."
Financial terms were not disclosed.
The JWT Equipment Specialists website will launch later this month.
Jack Williams Tire recently celebrated its 90th anniversary. The family-owned dealership operates 36 retail locations throughout northeast and central Pennsylvania and 12 wholesale warehouses.
