Hunter Engineering was twice named a winner in the 2024 PTEN Innovation Awards contest, grabbing honors for for its Ultimate ADAS in the ADAS category and its HawkEye CL Commercial Alignment System in the Tire & Wheel Service category.
The two Innovation Awards are the sixth and seventh presented to Hunter in the past three years, the company said.
"We'd like to say thank you to PTEN and its panel of experts," Pete Liebetreu, Hunter vice president of marketing, said. "We're always gratified and honored to be recognized in our industry. Most importantly, though, we're excited to provide for our customers new levels of efficiency, documentation and profitability for ADAS calibrations and alignments."
Hunter's Ultimate ADAS system "combines standard-setting alignment technology with an efficient and easy-to-use guided target placement system for around-the-vehicle coverage" using Gimbal-mounted lasers instead of strings, plumb bobs and tape measures to cut setup time by 70% for some procedures, Hunter said.
The HawkEye XL Alignment System, "designed for maximum speed, durability and ease of use for a wide range of commercial vehicles, provides highly accurate measurements in four minutes or less. The heart of the XL is visionary new camera technology with extra-long range and extra-large targets, expanded from the industry-leading HawkEye Elite aligner," the company said.
The PTEN Innovation Awards honor companies " that help auto repair professionals excel at their jobs through innovative new tools and equipment." Winners are published in the September issue of PTEN magazine, and will be honored in an official awards ceremony at the upcoming AAPEX Show in Las Vegas. The contest is in its 25th year. The 2024 contest included 25 categories, with winners selected by a third-party judging panel of technicians and shop owners.
"On behalf of the PTEN Innovation Awards, I would like to congratulate Hunter Engineering on their winning products," PTEN Editor Emily Markham said. "This competitive program allows PTEN to celebrate and recognize the most innovative products impacting the vehicle repair community this year."
