ST. LOUIS — Hunter Engineering Co. has developed a vehicle inspection integration link with Cox Automotive Inc.'s Xtime Engage and Inspect products that it claims will help improve the customer experience and increase tire and alignment profitability.
Through this relationship, alignment and tread-depth readings taken by Hunter's Quick Check Drive autonomous inspection equipment equipped with Hunter's WinAlign 16 or newer software are delivered instantly to the Xtime Intelligent Diagnostic platform, which turns the data into an inspection report the service adviser can show the customer on a tablet equipped with Xtime Engage.
Service advisers can then discuss the need for tire and/or alignment services with the customer.
The Hunter alignment and tire tread inspection results are also integrated with Xtime Inspect for technician efficiency by populating the tire tread-depth measurements in the inspection form, Hunter said.
Customers can also approve alignment and tire-service recommendations from their personal device, such as a mobile phone.
Hunter did not comment on what costs, if any, are associated with upgrading to this option.
Cox Automotive, a subsidiary of Cox Enterprises Inc., develops and markets digital marketing, wholesale and e-commerce solutions for the automotive service industry. Xtime is a software solution that works by delivering a customer experience that emphasizes value, convenience and trust.
