ST. LOUIS — Hunter Engineering Co., in partnership with Bush Specialty Vehicles Inc., will highlight its efforts to design and/or adapt its tire-servicing equipment for the growing mobile tire service sector at this year's SEMA Show.
Hunter will have on display at its booth at the Las Vegas Convention Center a van outfitted by Bush Specialty Vehicles with a range of Hunter equipment. The 2021 SEMA Show runs Nov. 2-5 at the newly expanded LVCC.
According to Hunter, Bush has developed a patent-pending design that allows customers to change the configuration of onboard equipment to accommodate a range of mobile services, including tire changing, tire balancing, brake services, oil changes, ADAS calibration and more.
The van will include one piece of equipment, the TC33M tire changer, that will debut at the SEMA Show ahead of its scheduled commercial release this coming winter, as well as the SmartWeight Pro tire balancer.
The TC33M's compact design is intended for use in mobile service applications, offering shop-focused benefits in a smaller package, such as powerful bead breaking for the toughest tires, a patented adjustable center clamp for maximum wheel protection, and single-pendant control that Hunter claims is fast and easy to use.
The familiar standard-setting SmartWeight Pro features patented Hunter SmartWeight technology, built for finer balance, minimal weight usage and maximum productivity. The space-saving hood design makes it perfect for mobile use, and also includes convenient single-knob interface and no-touch wheel measurement.
The equipment can be loaded and unloaded with a pallet loader, Hunter said, then guided into place with a built-in pneumatic roller system. The machines are immobilized and affixed to the vehicle floor with a heavy-duty anchoring system.
Power is provided by a Powerbox 240-volt inverter system. Among the many configuration options are a 42-inch aluminum storage cabinet, two slide-out drawers, two lightweight floor jacks and floor mounting brackets, and LED recessed lights. There's also room for onboard tires on custom racks.
The organizers of the SEMA Show recently published safety guidelines pertaining to the 2021 show, but noted the guidelines could be updated prior to the show, depending on state guidelines.
