MISSISSAUGA, Ontario — Continental A.G. has promoted Charles Holtmann, a 19-year company veteran, to managing director of Continental Tire Canada Inc., effective Jan. 1, 2023.
In his new position, Holtmann will manage sales and support for the multiple tire segments in Canada, including passenger and light truck, commercial and specialty, in addition to his role as head of truck tire sales.
Holtmann succeeds Matthew Livigni, managing director for the past five years, who is being reassigned as general market manager for Continental Tire South Africa, also effective Jan. 1.
A native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Holtmann joined Continental in 2003 in Hannover, Germany, with the industrial tire business. He also has held management positions in Southeast Asia and China before returning to Canada in 2019 to manage the truck tire business in Canada.
He brings an "extensive portfolio" of experience in various roles within the tire industry career, Conti said, which he will draw upon in his new position.
"I'm delighted to be in Canada and to continue driving the success story of our great products, brand and local team in the marketplace," Holtman said.
In his parting remarks, Livigni said "building the team, steering the business and serving on the TRAC (Tire and Rubber Association of Canada) board over the past eight years … have been some of the best years of my life and career."
