NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Hankook Tire America Corp. teamed up with partner Major League Baseball (MLB) and Make-A-Wish to grant life-changing wishes to five young baseball fans during MLB's 2023 All-Star Week.
The teenage fans — Evan,14, of North Caldwell, N.J.; Legend, 14, of Carmichael, Calif.; Gabriel, 15, of San Leandro, Calif.; Jacob, 17, of Leominster, Mass.; and Jack, 17, of Stanley, N.D. — who wished to be part of All-Star Week, were guests of the MLB during the 93rd Midsummer Classic at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.
Their experiences included a Make-A-Wish Welcome reception, access to Play Ball Park, tickets to the MLB Draft and a suite to watch the primetime events at T-Mobile Park.
Hankook Tire underwrote MLB's expenses for the welcome reception and the VIP suite.
"All-Star Week is a special moment for all baseball fans, and we wanted to take this opportunity to enable MLB to deliver an unforgettable experience for these incredible young fans," Hankook Tire America President Rob Williams said. "We're proud to work with MLB in its support of Make-A-Wish and hope that this week lights up the summer for Evan, Legend, Gabriel, Jacob and Jack."
Make-A-Wish grants wishes to children with critical illnesses, giving them the emotional and physical strength needed to fight their medical condition. MLB and its clubs have worked with the foundation since 1980.
