The AT2 Xtreme is built with multi-directional grooves and sipes as well as biting block edges that provide added traction in wet and severe snow conditions.
While the aggressive sidewalls add durability to both tires, Mr. Brison said consumers are also drawn to the styling.
"People like that look," he said. "Not only does it have that (durable) application, but it also looks really good. It looks aggressive. And if you look at some of these light trucks and SUVs, even if they're going to be used on-road, they want an aggressive look. They want it match the look of the vehicle. So these also accomplish that as well."
The Dynapro XT is available now in 30 sizes, while the Dynapro AT2 Xtreme is currently available in 32 sizes. Hankook will continue adding to the Dynapro AT2 line-up, reaching 98 total sizes by 2022.
Both tires will be manufactured at multiple sites in Asia and Tennessee, Mr. Brison said.
"While no one expected us to be launching products in a global pandemic followed by a supply chain anomaly, here we are and we're excited to be doing it because we are able to have the product here," he said. "We are very excited to bringing these products to the consumers even in a very challenging time."
