Industrial tire producer Global Rubber Industries Inc. launched the Green XLR Earth 65+ which is produced with 37.5% sustainable materials.

PARIS — Industrial tire producer Global Rubber Industries Inc.(GRI) has launched the Green XLR Earth 65+ radial agriculture tire, which, like others in the portfolio, is produced with 37.5% sustainable materials, while maintaining high performance and productivity for tractors.

The announcement was made at the SIMA 2022 show in Paris., which runs through Nov. 10.

GRI said the tire has a "virtual rib' that provides enhanced driving comfort on and off road, while improving steering and guidance for tractors at high speeds. The curve of the lug angle at the center was designed for improved fuel efficiency and great off-road traction to enhance lifespan, according to the Sri Lanka-based tire maker.

Prabhash Subasinghe, GRI's managing director, said sustainability remains a focus at GRI, making a positive impact not only on the environment but also with the farming community.

'The feedback received so far by farmers who are currently testing the tires on the field have further encouraged us to continue this trend of innovatio,' Subasinghe said. More and more, the future of specialty tires will depend on the incorporation of earth-friendly value propositions to help reduce the carbon footprint further. We are happy to have already begun this journey well ahead of the game."

GRI CEO Mahesha Ranasoma said the tread design is a result of extensive R&D, 'and the virtual rib created as a result, is proving extremely beneficial in tests relating to performance and comfort for tractors used on farms. More importantly, it protects not just the soil, but also the future of generations to come."

The company recently introduced the GreenXLR Earth Series at the Farm Progress Show in Iowa last August. That green-colored tire also includes bio-sourced, sustainable and recycled material is built with pure natural rubber, highly dispersible silica, recycled carbon black and reclaimed rubber from used tires.

The Green XLR Earth 65+ will available in early 2023.
