COLOMBO, Sri Lanka — Global Rubber Industries (GRI) has introduced a radial flotation tire engineered and developed for slurry tankers and trailers, the Green XLR F88, that will be available in size 800/55R26.5.
The tire has a distinctive center block tread design that GRI said ensures superior performance on road and great flotation off road. It features a wide tread width and dual angle-block lug to provide high traction and stability on the road.
The Green XLR F88 tire construction and tire compounds result in better tire life and higher load-carrying capacity, GRI said. The F88 tire is reinforced with impact belts to resist puncture tand impacts. Its wide tread enhances machine stability while reducing soil compaction, with a speed rating D and E.
The tire's wide tread, flexible sidewall and radial construction provides maximum footprint, according to GRI, as well as durability and ride comfort.
GRI CEO Mahesha Ranasoma said the company's radial flotation tire range will be developed further, with GRI "expanding product portfolio carefully, wherever necessary and required by market demand."
He called the new flotation tire "a result of the expansion of R&D capabilities in the GRI production facilities, employing skilled personnel who are the best in their field."
