CINCINNATI — Global Rubber Industries Pvt. Ltd. (GRI) is expanding its footprint in the U.S. with the establishment of GRI FIT in Cincinnati, a wholesale distribution site with industrial tire/wheel pressing capabilities on-site.
The new site, which complements existing distribution outlets in Indiana and Kentucky, serves as "robust anchoring" for further expansion of the network.
"GRI FIT is continuing to look for potential markets, as this model is scalable and within our strategic corporate plans," Tony Lugioyo, head of global sales at GRI.
The new business in Cincinnati is expected to be operating by mid-October, GRI said, without disclosing its address or size.
This move comes several months after GRI moved its U.S. headquarters to Indianapolis from Canton, Ga., and hired tire industry veteran Rick Harris as its U.S. regional sales manager.
Mr. Harris joined GRI in August 2018, bringing with him 20-plus years of industry experience, primarily as a territory sales manager with Dunlap & Kyle Inc.
Colombo, Sri Lanka-based GRI produces pneumatic and solid agricultural, industrial, OTR and construction tires at a pair of factories in Sri Lanka.
