NURBURG, Germany — The Nürburgring racing circuit has extended a business partnership with Goodyear to include supplying the circuit's entire fleet of vehicles and expanding its brand signage presence throughout the facility.
Goodyear is considered the iconic circuit's "official tire partner," which means the tire maker can use the Nürburgring Partner logo as part of its brand communication.
"Goodyear is the prime example of a partnership in action. Especially in these times, it is important to be able to rely on each other. That's why we are delighted that our official tire partner is strengthening its commitment even further," Michael Dürbaum, head of sales and business development at the Nürburgring, said.
Goodyear has worked with the circuit for over a decade. This extension includes the rebranding of the VIP lounge directly above the start-finish straight.
"We are convinced that the status of 'official tire partner' will further increase our visibility in Germany as a leading tire manufacturer, especially in the UUHP (ultra-ultra high performance) segment," André Weisz, managing director, consumer, at Goodyear Dunlop Tires Germany G.m.b.H.
"The increased visibility of the Goodyear brand on the prestigious circuit also underlines the long motorsport heritage of the Goodyear brand and its return to German racing."
The Nürburgring is a complex of racing circuits in Germany's Eifel Mountains, near the Belgium border. It's perhaps best known for the "Nordschleife," a 12.9-mile, 73-turn race track that car makers worldwide have adopted as a key testing site for new performance models.
