AKRON — Goodyear has renewed its title sponsorship and role as the exclusive tire supplier for the FIA European Truck Racing Championship (ETRC) for three more years. The agreement runs from the 2025 through 2027 seasons.
The Goodyear FIA ETRC is one of the most iconic race circuits in Europe, according to the tire maker, attracting thousands of spectators. The championship race will continue to be called the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship, "underscoring Goodyear's long-standing dedication to delivering excellent performance in motorsport."
Maciej Szymański, marketing director, commercial EMEA, Goodyear said the partnership "underscores our two-decade commitment to advancing truck racing. It is a platform to showcase advancements of tire technology in durability, efficiency, and sustainability in most demanding conditions. We are proud to continue supporting the championship, its teams, and its fans."
Goodyear FIA ETRC also reported that its sustainability efforts have increased, climbing from 16th to 13th place in the latest Sustainable Championships Index, underscoring the "championship's dedication to promoting sustainable practices and driving positive change within the industry."
Goodyear and the ETRC both said each will continue to focus on sustainability. The ERTC recently earned the FIA's three-star environmental accreditation, highlighting the series' efforts to reduce environmental impact, including the use of 100% renewable HVO biofuel since 2021.
Goodyear said that the truck racing tires from the championship are integrated into a sustainable lifecycle through retreading, as they are transformed into standard on-road Goodyear tires for transportation fleets. Goodyear said the process reduces resource consumption and waste, "aligning with the championship's dedication to environmental responsibility."
Goodyear also said it has received the top three-star rating in the FIA Environmental Accreditation framework, a certification that it covers its motorsport run by Goodyear Racing EMEA, including in the FIA World Endurance Championship, 24 Hours of Le Mans and European Le Mans Series.
For the 2025 season, Goodyear remains the exclusive tire supplier for the LMP2 category in both the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, as well as for all teams competing in the LMGT3 category of ELMS and the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).
In addition, Goodyear has been named the official title sponsor of the 2025 Goodyear 4 Hours of Silverstone.
"The insights we gain from this high-performance environment drive innovation in our commercial tires, translating into products that help transport fleets achieve their business goals and stay competitive," Szymański said.
Goodyear said it has introduced a new truck racing tire in 2024 that was developed at its Innovation Center in Luxembourg. According to the tire maker, the product enhances grip, durability and performance in both wet and dry conditions, compared to its predecessor. Goodyear said the tire has proven to perform well in a variety of track conditions and is durable, reducing the number of tires used in the race.
Georg Fuchs, managing director of ETRA, said his group and Goodyear has "worked to elevate the FIA ETRC not only as a motorsport series but also as a platform for sustainability and technological innovation. This extension underlines our shared vision for a more sustainable future in truck racing and the road haulage industry."
