RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. — Giti Tire (USA) Ltd. is rolling out an ATX version of its GT Radial Adventuro all-terrain tire line to complement the HT, introduced earlier this year, and AT3, launched in 2013.
The Adventuro ATX carries the industry's Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMS) rating for improved performance in winter conditions, Giti said, providing pickup truck and SUV owners a tire with aggressive looks and balanced on- and off-road performance.
The Adventuro ATX launches with nine P-metric sizes, Giti said, with 18 more P-metric and LT sizes on tap before year-end. Several of the line's most popular sizes are made at the company's plant in Richburg, S.C.; the rest are imported from Giti Tire's affiliate in Indonesia, P.T. Gajah Tunggal.
Sizing for now starts at P235/75R15 and runs through P245/75R16; by year-end the largest size will be LT275/65R20 and/or 35x12.50R20LT.
The full line, which covers 15-, 16-, 17-, 18- and 20-inch rim diameters, will cover 74% of the North American all-terrain market, Giti said.
The P-metric sizes of the ATX are backed by a 50,000-mile limited treadwear warranty. Giti also offers a 30-day test drive satisfaction guarantee for consumers.
"We're proud to bring more new products to the market that showcase our American engineering and high-quality American manufacturing at our plant in South Carolina," Thomas Okihisa, director of marketing, said.
Features and benefits include:
- Sidewall cleats for additional grip in deep soil and on loose surfaces;
- Interlocked center rib for dependable on-road handling and stability;
- Wide shoulder channels for improved performance on wet roads; and
- Stair-step grooves for enhanced off-road traction.
The ATX is the third product in the Adventuro range. Giti did not disclose pricing information.
