COPLEY, Ohio — Stargate Capital G.m.b.H., a German investment capital company with holdings in the tire/wheel-servicing equipment sector, is planning to enter the U.S. market with the Beissbarth, Sicam and Werther brands being sold under the Accu-Turn name.
Munich-based Stargate Capital has established a U.S. sales company, BASE USA in Copley, in partnership with McCourt Consultant Group, which will handle importing and logistics and is in the process of setting up a sales/distribution network, according Chuck McCourt, president of both companies.
Stargate Capital has been building its tire/wheel servicing equipment groups since early 2018 when it acquired Werther International S.p.A., a Reggio Emilia, Italy-based producer of vehicle lifts and associated equipment.
The process continued throughout 2018 and concluded in October with the purchase of Beissbarth G.m.b.H. and Sicam S.r.l. from Bosch Corp.
Beissbarth is a Munich-based producer of a range of auto service/repair equipment, while Corregio, Italy-based Sicam is a producer of tire-changing equipment.
The company settled on using the Accu-Turn name as the umbrella brand name as more internationally recognizable. It also belonged to Beissbarth and was part of the deal with Bosch.
The Accu-Turn name has been active in the market since the early 1980s, primarily in the brake-lathe sector.
BASE (Beissbarth Automotive Service Equipment) USA will offer a range of wheel servicing equipment under the Accu-Turn name, including:
- Tire changers (both passengers and heavy-duty);
- Wheel balancers (both passengers and heavy-duty);
- Brake lathes (both passengers and heavy-duty);
- Lifts (low raise; two post; four post);
- Headlight calibration;
- Flash tread tire management; and
- Wheel alignment (easy CCD; easy 3D; touchless)
"Our goal is to establish and promote the brand recognition of Beissbarth, Sicam and Werther products in the U.S. marketplace to the prominent level they currently hold in Europe by leveraging the legacy and market identity of the Accu-Turn name," Mr. McCourt said.
BASE USA will provide more services than any other equipment supplier in the market, as part of its value-added package provided to its customers," he added.
Accu-Turn/BASE USA will be exhibiting at the upcoming SEMA Show, Nov. 5-8 in Las Vegas, booth No. 42321.
