Fornnax releases 'groundbreaking' tire, scrap recycling shredder

MUMBAI, India—Fornnax, a manufacturer of recycling machinery, has released the SR-200 HD Dual-Shaft Primary Shredder, which Fornnax calls "a groundbreaking invention" in the tire recycling arena.

Fornnax debuted the new high-capacity, high-efficiency machine at the prestigious India Rubber Expo at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai March 20.

"The SR-200 HD marks a significant leap in recycling technology, demonstrating Fornnax's dedication to engineering excellence and sustainability," the company said in a March 20 release.

Ajay Shah, president of Reliance Industries Ltd.; and Vishnu Bhimrajka, chairman and chief convenor of India Rubber Expo 2024, along with clients, inaugurated the SR-200 HD at the expo.

The machine is designed for tire-shredding applications, however it can be used for high-volume municipal solid waste, wood pallets, industrial and commercial waste and other scrap.

"The introduction of the SR-200 HD presents significant opportunities for industries in the Middle East, Australia (due to full-tire export bans from Australia; and steel export bans from the Middle East) and Europe, where an increasing need for advanced recycling solutions is evident," according to Fornnax.

The company says the machine provides a lower cost-per-ton, ease of operation and more flexibility to recycle different kinds of tires. The machine is designed for the tire-derived fuel market, specifically TDF for cement kilns, as well as sites with a 25-ton-per-hour production requirement.

"The SR-200 HD model provides higher capacity due to its high RPM and torque, resulting in less manpower, electricity, and wear costs," Fornnax said.

Fornnax added that it has secured six pre-launch orders from India, Australia, the Middle East and Europe, "reflecting the trust built in the global market over the years."

"Industries are seeking machinery with enhanced output capabilities that comply with industry-leading standards to meet their recycling needs effectively," the company stated. "Fornnax is increasing its budget in R&D each year as we focus on new product development for customers' specific demands rather than continuing with the old standard products."
