HORSHAM, Pa. — AAMCO Transmissions Inc. is joining forces with Rarestep Inc. to offer the fleet management provider's "Fleetio" web-based and mobile technology through its nearly 600 franchised AAMCO Total Car Care locations throughout the U.S.
Fleetio's Maintenance Shop Integration technology helps fleets reduce downtime and save time, money and manpower by offering rapid diagnostic and repair services by expert technicians, AAMCO said.
Fleetio's system allows a fleet vehicle to find a convenient repair shop, get a diagnosis, electronically approve or reject work, have the vehicle serviced and make payment (often with discounts), AAMCO said, through an automated process that can be accessed through web- and mobile-based apps.
"For AAMCO, the Fleetio partnership gives us an opportunity to offer local fleets the same standard of service which has historically been available only for large national accounts," Brian O'Donnell, AAMCO chief strategy officer, said.
AAMCO's franchised dealership network will be part of Fleetio's Maintenance Provider Network of nearly 50,000 shops. Fleetio's software provides an entry point for a fleet of any size looking to manage its maintenance.
"With greater savings, speed, and ease of access, AAMCO offers fleets of all sizes our world-class diagnostic capabilities and expertise in complex repairs in our locations across the United States," Mr. O'Donnell said.
"Fleetio is excited to have AAMCO join the Fleetio Maintenance Provider Network and provide our customers with more options when it comes to maintenance and repairs," Greg Mattes, director of product strategy at Fleetio, said.
"Partnering with AAMCO allows our fleet customers of any size to take advantage of AAMCO's reputation as total car care and transmission specialists, while also gaining insights into the complete maintenance lifecycle and total cost of ownership for their fleet."
Other service providers aligned with Fleetio's Maintenance Provider Network include: Discount Tire/America's Tire; Monro Inc.'s various auto service and tire brands; TBC Corp.'s NTB, Tire Kingdom, Big O Tires and Midas brands; Firestone Complete Auto Care; Icahn Automotive L.P.'s Pep Boys network; Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA); Ford Motor Co.; Valvoline Instant Oil Change; Jiffy Lube; etc.
The network also includes over 20,000 independent shops.
