LAS VEGAS — Las Vegas-based entrepreneur Kent Ahrens has opened a SpeedDee Oil Change & Auto Service franchise in Las Vegas, the first SpeeDee location in the nation's gambling mecca.
The store, with eight bays, will provide full automotive repair and maintenance services including tires and wheel alignments, according to SpeeDee Worldwide L.L.C., the franchisor.
The property, on Charleston Boulevard northwest of the Las Vegas strip, formerly was a Pep Boys - Manny, Moe and Jack retail outlet.
A grand opening celebration at the location, which opened Oct. 5, will be held in the first part of 2021, according to the company.
"We look forward to showing our customers the outstanding service experience for which the SpeeDee brand has long been known throughout the country," Mr. Ahrens said.
Speedee did not provide any background information on Mr. Ahrens.
Wes Stephenson, SpeeDee president and chief operating officer, said the location "is part of SpeeDee's continued expansion into markets not yet holding a brand presence."
Greenwood Village, Colo.-based SpeeDee is a subsidiary of FullSpeed Automotive and operates more than 150 stores across the U.S., in the Gulf Coast, Texas, Mid-Atlantic, California, New England, Atlanta and Las Vegas.
