RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. — Sumitomo Rubber North America Inc. is upgrading its Falken Ziex ZE high-performance tire line, rolling out the H, V and W speed-rated Ziex 960 A/S all-season model targeted at owners of performance coupes and sedans.
The new model, the Ziex ZE960 A/S, replaces the ZE950 and launches with 53 sizes covering 15- to 20-inch rim diameter SKUs. The new tire is backed by a 65,000-mile treadlife warranty for H- and V-rated sizes and 45,000 miles for W-rated sizes.
SRNA said the new model was designed In response to auto makers' recent push to increase the power and capability of their cars. The Ziex ZE960 A/S is designed to deliver long-lasting safety and sports car-inspired performance to today's "dynamic" passenger car vehicles, promoting confidence and control behind the wheel.
The tire also comes with road-hazard protection, offering free replacement for any damage that occurs during the first two years, or within the first 3/32nds-inch of tread life, whichever comes first.
STNA said the ZE960 features advanced rubber compounding that delivers all-season performance, including grip in wet, snow and icy conditions and "superb" warm weather conformity.
The ZE960 features "Flask Siping" to evacuate water as the tire wears, providing strong hydroplaning resistance and "exceptional" wet braking performance throughout the life of the tire.
Falken's "Canyon Groove" feature enhances snow traction, and remains tucked away to preserve a smooth, comfortable ride.
Tsuyoshi Johnson, product manager, passenger car tires, said ZE960 was developed with SRNA's most advanced technology, making it an ideal fit for vehicles like the BMW 3 and 4 Series, Honda Accord Sport and Tesla Model 3.
SRNA did not disclose pricing information. The tire range is built in Thailand.
