AUSTIN, Texas — Epicor Software Corp. teaming up global analytics and business provider MicroStrategy Inc. to deploy a Predictive Maintenance Assistant solution that uses MicroStrategy's "HyperIntelligence" strategy.
According to Epicor, HyperIntelligence embeds instant, zero-click insights within users' existing business tools, "providing convenient, pervasive access to data at virtually any point of decision."
Epicor PMA uses artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to help service providers and consumers predict maintenance and repair. Epicor said it will help service business and consumers by offering data-driven recommendations.
"This is a critical step in helping shops and their customers make fact-based decisions about vehicle service," Tim Hardin, senior vice president and general manager of automotive at Epicor, said
"Building these AI-driven insights is only part of the equation — we are also making sure they are easily available and consumable by shop professionals and other customers."
According to Epicor, HyperIntelligence reveals data in applications stakeholders already use. The user hovers over keywords or phrases to access a "card" and receive data. Users can act on data within that existing application.
Epicor said each HyperIntelligence card is built using MicroStrategy's governed metadata semantic layer, helping it match insights to the vehicle and services in real time to prompt an estimate and interaction with the vehicle owner.
MicroStrategy President Phong Le said his company is "innovating radically better experiences, like HyperIntelligence, to accelerate insight-driven decision making for everyone — not just data-savvy analysts. Solutions like these are what set us apart from everyone else in the analytics industry."
"Suppliers win. Service providers win. Consumers win. All made possible with the power of our platform," he said.
Epicor said its data analytics offer visibility into more than 1 billion part transactions and nearly 140 million vehicle repair events per year. The company said it also is introducing an AI-driven Predictive Inventory Assistant for parts wholesalers and retailers.
Epicor recently launched the multi-feature Epicor Service CRM mobile app for automotive service businesses, a mobile app available for download through the App Store and Google Play.
