CAMBRIDGE, Ontario — The Tire and Rubber Association of Canada (TRAC) has elected Paul Downey, president and CEO of Pliteq Inc., the association's chair, succeeding Pirelli Tire Inc.'s Maureen Kline, who remains on the board as a director.
TRAC named its board of directors after its annual general meeting, held on June 14. Pliteq is a Vaughan, Ontario-based producer of building products made of reclaimed rubber.
Chris Figel, executive vice present and general counsel at AirBoss of America Corp., and Dean Pearson of Cabot Canada Ltd., were elected as TRAC directors. Pearson is facility general manager at Cabot's production plant in Sarnia.
Downey thanked Kline while welcoming Figel and Pearson to the board.
"We are grateful for the leadership, hard work, and dedication Ms. Kline gave to the organization, while expressing "gratitude to Chris Bitsakakis of AirBoss, Neil Bansal of Liberty Tire and Lou Monico of Giti who left the TRAC Board. I appreciate their contributions to the organization as well."
