The Cooper Discoverer HTP II is designed for SUV and light-duty pickup drivers who desire a long-lasting, all-season tire that not only excels in wet road conditions but is also quiet and comfortable on the highway.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Leading tire retailer Reinalt-Thomas Corp. Tire has secured exclusive rights to an all-season tire, the Cooper Discoverer HTP II, to be sold through its 1,150-plus Discount Tire and America's Tire stores.

The deal is Discount Tire's second this year. Earlier, the company secured a similar deal with Nokian Tyres Inc. for the Nokian Encompass AOW1, an all-weather tire that Discount said delivers "innovative" all-weather performance.

The new tires expand the dealership's portfolio of exclusive offerings to a dozen or more.

The Cooper Discoverer HTP II, based on the original Discoverer HTP and developed in partnership with Cooper Tire, is designed for SUV and light-duty pickup drivers who desire a long-lasting, all-season tire that not only excels in wet road conditions but is also quiet and comfortable on the highway, Discount Tire said.

The tire features Cooper's "EnduraGuard" design technology, Discount Tire said, which focuses on a durable internal construction that helps the tire keep its shape while driving over rough, uneven surfaces.

It also incorporates Cooper's Wear Square visual indicator in the tread that allows drivers to assess tread life remaining on tires quickly.

The technology is designed for drivers looking for suitable and safe tires that are able to remain on the vehicle year-round with better snow traction capabilities than standard all-season tires.

Discount is offering the tire in 16 sizes, covering 225/75R16 to 285/45R22. It's listed for $132 to $230 per tire on the company's website.

    P-metric sizes are backed with a 65,000-mile manufacturer's warranty; LT-metric sizes are backed by a 55,000-mile warranty.

The Nokian Encompass AW01 tire is built with an asymmetrical "dual zone" tread design, with a snow-focused inside area that uses sipes, lateral notches and sipe activators, helping drivers stay in control on the road in rough conditions.

It also comes with aramid-fiber-reinforced sidewalls, a Nokian-signature solution that provides better resistance against impacts and cuts.

It's available in 13 sizes covering sizes 195/65R15 to 235/45R18 and backed by a 60,000-mile manufacturer's warranty. It's listed for $99 to $170 per tire.
