SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Reinalt-Thomas Corp. has promoted 31-year company veteran Dean Muglia to CEO of Discount Tire/America's Tire, succeeding Michael Zuieback, who retains the role of executive chairman for the company.
Chief corporate officer since 2018, Mr. Muglia was recruited in 1989 by Discount Tire founder Bruce Halle to head the accounting department. He also worked in store operations, the company said, where he supported the company's performance and "cultural integration" during periods of growth.
As CEO, Mr. Muglia will focus on the firm's performance, recruitment, retention and mentorship of leadership and ensuring Discount TIie maintains and exceeds the high standards of service expected by its customers.
"Dean is the definition of a servant leader," Mr. Zuieback said.
"He is a critical thinker and clear communicator with an innate ability to develop real solutions that deliver results. Above all else, Dean is passionate about Discount Tire and our people. He truly embodies Mr. Halle's five life lessons: be honest, work hard, have fun, be grateful and pay it forward."
Mr. Muglia is the fifth CEO in Discount Tire's 60-year history. The Scottsdale-based company operates over 1,050 stores in 35 states generating nearly $4.8 billion in sales annually.
"I look forward to growing with the Discount Tire family and serving our employees and customers with the passion Mr. Halle instilled," Mr. Muglia said. "This company means everything to me. I'm honored to help lead our remarkable organization to new heights."
Mr. Zuieback, Mr. Halle's stepson, has been CEO since 2015 and is a 19-year company veteran.
