CLEVELAND — Tire and automotive parts wholesale distributor Dealer Tire has hired Andrean Horton, most recently an executive with Myers Industries Inc., to be a partner and chief legal officer.
In the new job, Ms. Horton will "advise on the company's growth strategy from a legal perspective, identify potential risks and create innovative solutions, and assist in setting and implementing the company's overall governance and policies," Dealer Tire said.
Ms. Horton brings 20-plus year of leadership experience in the corporate world to the new job. Most recently she was chief legal officer at Akron-based plastic and rubber products manufacturer Myers Industries, where she also served as interim president and CEO during a period of leadership transition.
Dealer Tire noted that Ms. Horton "has held similar senior leadership roles in multiple organizations," including plastic compounding products supplier A. Schulman Inc. in Fairlawn, Ohio, where she worked for eight years.
Ms. Horton will lead Dealer Tire's legal team and "will be responsible for the organization's general and commercial legal matters including, compliance, litigation, mergers and acquisitions, employment, contracts and negotiations, government relations and other general business legal issues," the company said.
She will report directly to Dealer Tire partner and CEO Scott Mueller and advise Dealer Tire senior leadership and its board on strategic, tactical and operational issues, pragmatically managing legal risks.
Mr. Mueller said Ms. Horton "will serve as an ambassador and advocate for our values, our people and our organization," and noted she "has a unique ability and expertise to lead dynamic teams, tackle new opportunities and provide sage, strategic counsel, which will help support our organization's future growth and long-term success."
Ms. Horton earned a law degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland and a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan.
