NEW YORK — Representatives of Eavers Tire Pros and Industrial Tire Service, independent dealer customers of Continental Tire the Americas from Washington and Virginia, respectively, are measurably better off today thanks to Conti's "Dealer Dash" contest.
Those individuals, Heather and Branden Corbin and Wayne Winders, were selected randomly to represent Conti's Gold and Horsepower dealer programs, respectively, in this year's Dealer Dash — a 60-second dash through a gift warehouse in New Jersey to grab as many items as they could. Together they gathered up $29,000 in prizes, Conti said.
"This is the first year that the Horsepower program has awarded a Dealer Dash," according to Tom Fanning, Continental's vice president of sales and marketing, truck tires North America, who said Conti has invited a Gold program passenger tire dealer to do the warehouse dash for the past seven years.
"We saw what a great reward it was for a participant and we wanted our hard-working commercial dealer salespeople to have the same opportunity," he added.
Conti's Gold Program rewards participants based on 10% year-over-year growth. Eavers Tire Pros of Stuarts Draft, Va., was selected in a random drawing this year out of 11,000 qualified entries. The Corbins took home $15,000 in prizes.
- The Horsepower program rewards dealer salespeople for commercial truck and bus tire sales. There were 300 Horsepower participants from 69 dealerships who qualified for the Dash.
- Mr. Winders, an outside sales representative at Industrial Tire Service who lives in Washougal, Wash., took home $14,000 in prizes.
