FINDLAY, Ohio — Cooper Tire & Rubber Co.'s Work Series truck and bus radial tire line and Maxam Tire North America Inc.'s large mining series tires are among Construction Equipment magazine's Top 100 new products of 2020.
The Top 100 list recognizes the year's most innovative new construction and related products as chosen by the publication's editorial staff, from among hundreds of new products.
This marks the second time in four years that Cooper has received the magazine's award.
Cooper's Work Series tires, for regional-haul, pickup and delivery vehicles, balance fuel efficiency and tread life with scrub resistant properties, Cooper said. The product is one of three series within Cooper's TBR lineup that also includes the Pro Series for long-haul and Severe Series for mixed service applications.
"This award is testament to the effort that goes into designing Cooper Work Series tires," Gary Schroeder, executive director of Cooper's Global TBR business, said. "Our WORK Series ... has been very well received, providing our customers with a low cost of ownership proposition."
The Work Series debuted in 2018. This year, Cooper added two tires for local and vocational applications: the All-Steel Drive tire and the All Steel All Position tire, both engineered for Class 4-6 vehicles in 19.5-inch size.
Maxam, meanwhile, expanded its large mining series with the MS401, MS402 and MS403 haulage tires.
According to Maxam, the products are for haul trucks up to 320 tons and offer three tread patterns in multiple compounds, to meet different surface mine application requirements.
The MS401has an aggressive tread design with heat-resistant under tread, designed for applications that require maximum traction, while the MS402 features enhanced shoulder lugs and a solid centerline for increased protection, traction, and tread life in haulage applications.
The MS403 integrates an advanced tread design for flexibility in all applications, from smooth haul roads to rough and rocky terrain, Maxam said.
