FORT MILL, S.C. — Continental Tire The Americas has rolled out the ExtremeContactSport02, an ultra-high-performance (UHP) tire for passenger cars that the tire maker said is ideal for both the street and the race track.
The tire line is designed to fit cars with tire fitments covering 15- to 21-inch rim diameters.
Conti will showcase the product during a tire launch event Nov. 14-17 in Palm Springs, Calif., for selected dealers and trade press.
Conti said the product features its SportPlus Technology, which provides responsive handling, improved grip on wet roads and extended tread life.
Improvements the ExtremeContact Sport02 has compared with the ExtremeContact Sport predecessor tire that has been on the market since 2016, Conti said, include:
- Up to 1 second faster dry handling lap time;
- Enhanced responsiveness; and
- Improved dry and wet braking.
The tire also is backed by Conti's Total Confidence Plan, which includes a 30,000 mile limited treadwear warranty.
Travis Roffler, director of marketing for Continental, said the tire "takes ultra-high performance to the next level. Our customers already loved the ExtremeContact Sport, and we made this tire even better. We're thrilled to add it to the market."
