FORT MILL, S.C. — Continental Tire the Americas (CTA) has promoted Tom Fanning to head of U.S. market, truck tires, responsible for all aspects of Conti's commercial tire business in the U.S.
Mr. Fanning's position is a new one in the CTA corporate structure. He has been with Continental since 2000 and most recently was vice president of sales and marketing.
His range of expertise includes experience with commercial tire sales, operations and human resources through his years with Continental and at major tire distributors throughout the American Southeast.
Prior to this restructuring, truck tires as a business was a global organization. Now it will be treated as a product segment similar to the passenger/light truck segment, led by Bill Caldwell in the U.S. market, Conti said.
Messrs. Fanning and Caldwell report directly to Jochen Etzel, CEO, Continental Tire the Americas.
In addition, Conti promoted Scott Pall and Carolina Wagner to new positions in the U.S. truck tire business segment.
Mr. Pall, formerly the North Region sales manager, becomes head of sales for the U.S. He joined Continental in 2001.
Ms. Wagner advances to head of marketing for U.S. truck tires and head of digital solutions the Americas, encompassing Continental's suite of digital tire-monitoring solutions.
She joined CTA in 2013 as head of marketing for Mercosur; she was promoted to marketing director, commercial vehicle tires, the Americas in 2017. She also has worked for Goodyear in Latin America for eight years.
