Conti's PremiumContact 6 named OE for Cadillac EV

HANOVER, Germany — General Motors Co. has chosen a 22-inch rim-diameter version of the Continental PremiumContact 6 tire as original equipment for its electric Cadillac Lyriq-V.

Continental A.G. said the tire is "designed for dynamic and responsive driving while being safe and comfortable." It said electric vehicles such as the Lyriq benefit from this fitment.

The PremiumContact 6 is designed to provide control and high cornering stability at higher speeds, Conti said, while the grip performance ensures that power is transferred effectively to the asphalt.

The approved fitment is size 275/40 R22 107 V.

It features a circumferential groove design that allows for quick response and precise steering. The tire is engineered for safe driving in all weather conditions, Conti said, with a special silica rubber compound that provides excellent braking on both wet and dry roads.

Low rolling resistance helps extend the battery range of the Lyriq-V, Conti said, and the product offers short braking distances, precision handling and good wet-weather properties.

With an increased load index, the tires are designed to handle increased weight of electric vehicles resulting from the battery.
