SCHWEINFURT, Germany — ZF Friedrichshafen A.G. has named Philippe Colpron as executive vice president in charge of ZF's aftermarket division, effective Jan. 1.
He succeeds Helmut Ernst, who will take on the transition role of "aftermarket affairs," representing ZF in selected aftermarket associations, leading strategic projects and supporting the on-boarding process of Mr. Colpron.
Mr. Colpron will continue to lead Fleet Solutions — a business of ZF's Commercial Vehicle Control Systems division, which was the former Wabco Holding operations that ZF acquired in May.
ZF Aftermarket markets the TRW, Sachs, Lemförder, Boge and Openmatics brands of driveline, chassis and active/passive safety products. Mr. Colpron said he plans to expand ZF Aftermarket's portfolio and drive new advancements in customer-centric solutions.
"The automotive future is smart with alternative drive concepts, connected vehicles and autonomous driving in addition to radically changing customer expectations," Mr. Colpron said.
"ZF Aftermarket wants to take this transformation as an opportunity to be strongly connected with our customers and further expand on a convincing combination of a broad product and solutions portfolio, a global service network and purposeful digital solutions, shaping the aftermarket for the next generation mobility in a sustainable society."
Mr. Colpron started his career at the former Wabco in 2007 and took over various management positions in the aftermarket division. In 2018, he was appointed to the global fleet solutions hub leadership role.
