BEIJING — China's tire exports fell 5% in 2020 versus 2019 to 477 million units, according to figures from China's General Administration of Customs.
The value of the exports fell 10%, to $13 billion, the data show, while the volume exported, in tonnage terms, was off 3% to 6 million metric tons.
The Chinese agency's figures did not break down the data by tire type or export destination.
The Chinese industry's exports in December were down 0.2% from December 2019 to 45 million, the data show. It was the first decline in monthly shipments since August. The value of exports as presented in U.S. dollars contracted 4%, to $1.2 billion.
