CARY, N.C. — Chapel Hill Tire has added a 10th location with the recent acquisition of Bull Tire& Service in Cary, a suburb of Raleigh, N.C.

It's the eighth acquisition for North Carolina's Chapel Hill, which has four shops in Chapel Hill, N.C., two in Raleigh, and one each in Carrboro, Apex and Durham.

The recently acquired shop is 8,100 square-feet and has nine service bays. The shop will have eight employees to start, including four existing Bull Tire employees, with plans to grow to 10 or 11 staff total within the next year, Chapel Hill President and Co-Owner Marc Pons said.

"We are going to try and retain as much of the staff as possible," he said. "We've got a great reputation for retaining staff in our previous acquisitions, and we intend to do the same here."

Pons, the son of former owner Al Pons, said the company takes family values seriously and has a commitment to treating employees with respect, integrity and gratitude.

"We're really proud of the culture we have here," he said. "We believe that employees will only treat customers up to the level that they're treated. So if we want to foster outstanding customer experiences, we need our employees to feel cared for. We go the extra mile for them so that they'll go the extra mile for our customers."

Pons noted Chapel Hill's "Drive Happy Movement."

"We believe that we have something really special to offer our customers. It goes beyond just being good at car care. Our customer service rivals some of the best in retail. And we're really excited to bring that to Cary," he said.

Chapel Hill offers tires and a full suite of car services — specializing in hybrid vehicles — as well as a car wash and vehicle detailing service. It's new free pick up and delivery service, which allows customers to have their cars picked up, service and returned by a company representative, has been popular with customers, Pons said.

Cary is the largest suburb of Raleigh and close to the company's base in Chapel Hill, he said.

"We want to be able to serve people in all areas of the Triangle, and the Cary addition will help us do that."
