FRANKLIN, Tenn. — Carlstar Group L.L.C. has launched the 10-ply ITP Tenacity XSR Xtreme Steel Radial and Tenacity XNR Xtreme Nylon Radial tires for Super Sport SxS enthusiasts.
The Tenacity series is the newest installment of premier high-performance tires under the ITP brand.
"The new Tenacity line features high-quality construction techniques that translate into the higher performance expectations of today's Super Sport SxS enthusiasts," Rhett Turpin, Carlstar's director of sales – powersports, said.
Both the Tenacity XSR and XNR tires feature computer-aided, non-directional tread patterns, designed for desert, gravel, rock and sandy terrain.
The new chain-type pattern increases traction in loose terrain, while the staggered shoulder blocks ensure consistent traction in rocky and rutted trail conditions, the company said, adding that the new rubber compound, unique to the Tenacity family of tires, balances traction and tread life.
"Both the XSR and XNR have similar features, but they also have very distinct internal components that set each tire apart," said Todd Hinson, Carlstar's market segment manager – powersports.
The Tenacity XSR, ITP's first steel-belted radial design tailored for the extreme rider/competitor, features reinforced steel belts for improved puncture resistance, high-speed stability and traction on par with light truck/off-road tires; and a rigid body ply construction method for steering response.
The Tenacity XNR, designed for the recreational rider, features a carcass built with premium nylon body plies and CCB (continuous cap belt) in a lighter, non-steel belted version; and nylon belts for improved compliance for trail riding over rocks, roots, and rutted conditions at lower speeds.
The Tenacity line of tires is available in size 32x10R15 with a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $230 for the XSR and $210 for the XNR.
