NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Bridgestone Americas Inc. raised a record $2.3 million this year for the United Way of Greater Nashville to support the organization's network of local organizations providing essential services and programs across Middle Tennessee.
The donation is part of the company's nearly 30-year partnership with United Way, which includes an annual charitable giving campaign that has raised more than $10.4 million for the organization since 2012.
Nashville-based Bridgestone employees raised more than $1.09 million for United Way and the company generated more than $1.3 million through its fifth annual Bridgestone United Way Charitable Golf Tournament held on Oct. 19 at Hermitage Golf Club in Nashville.
The annual tournament has reaised more than $4.3 million in the five years it has been hosted.
"Bridgestone is committed to supporting the communities in which we live and operate," Paolo Ferrari, president and CEO, Bridgestone Americas, said.
"This year, our teammates and partners truly lived out our Bridgestone E8 commitment by generously giving back to those in need across Middle Tennessee. We are honored to continue our support of United Way of Greater Nashville."
The partnership between Bridgestone and United Way aligns with the Bridgestone E8 Commitment, consisting of eight Bridgestone-like values starting with the letter "E" that Bridgestone has committed to creating together with employees, society, partners and customers to realize a sustainable society. It specifically aligns with "Empowerment" and "Emotion," the company said.
