NASHVILLE — Bridgestone Americas Inc. is raising prices consumer tires sold in the U.S. and Canada by up to 10% July 1, the third such increase in 2022.

The increase affects Bridgestone-, Firestone- and Fuzion-brand passenger, light truck and motorcycle tires.

Bridgestone said the price hike is "a necessary step" as it navigates current market dynamics.

Price adjustments will be determined by pattern and article levels and may vary based on channel, the company said. Members of the Bridgestone Consumer Tire sales teams will contact customers directly to provide more detailed information.

This marks Bridgestone's fourth price increase of 2022. The tire maker raised prices on Bridgestone- and Firestone-brand commercial, OTR and agriculture tires by up to 15% in the U.S and Canada on May 1.

In March, Bridgestone announced a price increase of up to 10% on non-winter Bridgestone-, Firestone- and Fuzion-brand passenger and light truck replacement tires sold in the U.S. and Canada. That increase took effect April 1.
On Jan. 1, the company increased prices on Bridgestone-, Firestone- and Fuzion-brand passenger and light truck replacement tires and Bridgestone motorcycle tires.

The company announced five price increases in 2021.
