NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Bridgestone Americas Corp. is planning to raise prices Jan. 1 on select Bridgestone and Firestone passenger and light truck replacement tires sold in the U.S. and Canada.
The tire maker did not disclose the percentage of the increase. Adjustments will be made at the article and pattern level, Bridgestone said.
Bridgestone said the price increase is in response to increased business costs and other market dynamics. Bridgestone consumer replacement tire sales team members are contacting customers to provide more details about the changes.
The last time Bridgestone announced a price increase on consumer tires was in September 2018.
Earlier this year, Bridgestone raised prices on radial Firestone truck and bus tires by an average of more than 5%, with some prices by more than 8%.
Other companies to announce recent price increases include Goodyear, Sumitomo Rubber North America, Hankook Tire USA Inc. and Yokohama Tire Corp.
