AKRON — Triangle Tire USA Inc. has hired longtime tire industry engineer Brad Wurst as senior development engineer of A3T L.L.C., its technical center in Akron.
Mr. Wurst joins Triangle from Smithers Materials Science and Engineering, where he had worked since March 2018. He spent seven-plus years with Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., including a one-year stint as a TBR development engineer at Cooper's Shanghai facility, and prior to that nearly 20 years with Bridgestone Americas.
Tim Baker, deputy general manager of A3T, said Mr. Wurst's "experience and commitment will certainly enhance the technical capabilities of this office to support Triangle Tire's global development efforts, particularly product development initiatives for the North American market."
Triangle Tire USA is the Franklin, Tenn.-based subsidiary of China's Triangle Tire Group.
Earlier this year, Triangle promoted Tim Baker to deputy general manager of A3T, succeeding Ed Montgomery, who retired.
Triangle established A3T in 2011 in partnership with the University of Akron and the City of Akron.
