PHILADELPHIA — Bolt On Technology L.L.C. has upgraded its NextGear customer platform to allow dealership owners to offer online appointment scheduling.
The platform, called ThirdGear, integrates with Bolt On's NextGear as well as a shop's existing website. The upgrade also is designed to remind customers of previously recommended services during the appointment scheduling process.
NextGear already offers digital vehicle inspections, vehicle maintenance profiles, data storage in the cloud and text-to-pay capability, speech-to-text note taking and the ability to track progression and wear of parts over time.
The upgrade is available for an additional $50 per month on top of a NextGear subscription, according to Bolt On.
Bolt On's web template, call Pit Stop, can help shops without a website or those that want to upgrade their existing web presence.
Bolt On Founder and CEO Mike Risich said the Pit Stop web product works seamlessly with NextGear, "while helping shops with dated or no website significantly improve their web presence."
Mr. Risich said shops increasingly are engaging with customers online, and scheduling appointments online provides another way to accommodate their preference for digital engagement. Pit Stop can access the shop's calendar and enable customers to schedule service, freeing up employees to work on cars:
Bolt On said its research shows that digital vehicle inspection capability can increase average repair orders (AROs) by nearly 40%.
