INDIANAPOLIS — Best-One of Indy is acquiring Robinson Tire & Auto Service, a single-outlet dealership in Lafayette, Ind., in a deal that will expand its reach to 15 locations in central Indiana.
After the acquisition, which is expected to close Sept. 1, the location will be renamed Best-One of Lafayette.
Robinson Tire was founded in 1995 by John Robinson and his son, John Robinson Jr.
"These 26 years at Robinson Tire would not have been possible without the loyalty and friendship of all of our customers and great employees." John Robinson, who is retiring, said.
His son will continue working in the business, he added.
The store being acquired is in a light industrial area a few miles southeast of downtown Lafayette, a city of about 73,000 residents located 60 miles southwest of Indianapolis.
Best-One of Indy has a commercial dealership in the Lafayette area, Best-One Fleet Service of Lafayette, located less than a half mile from Robinson Tire.
"We are excited to bring a Best-One retail location back to the Lafayette community and look forward to continuing the legacy that John has built in the area," Rich Elliott, president of Best-One of Indy, said.
"For 35 years, we have been family owned, and we plan to keep the same family, local feel while delivering superior customer service and being a trusted provider of retail, commercial and ag tires."
