WAUKEGAN, Ill. — Private brand tire marketer Atturo Tire Corp. has donated $10,000 to Keeping Families Covered, a charity dedicated to providing basic needs to family in greater Lake County, Ill.
Keeping Families Covered is located next door to Atturo's office in Waukegan.
Atturo Tire first began an awareness campaign in December 2021, announcing a donation and running a series of posts on various social media platforms, highlighting the organization and the needs it fulfills.
Keeping Families Covered provides a wide range of items to families through their mobile pantry program, including infant formula, diapers, wipes, pull-ups and adult incontinence products.
The donation was presented in a combined charity event where Atturo employees helped to wrap, package and prepare donations to be distributed at an upcoming diaper drive.
"Most people don't realize how big of an issue diaper need is in the United States, and as a father myself, I am proud to support an organization that helps families in need in both mine and Atturo's backyard," Atturo President Michael Mathis said
Atturo also committed to supporting Keeping Families Covered through 2022 as a Diamond sponsor in the "Changing Table" Program.
Ann Marie Mathis, founder and CEO of Keeping Families Covered said the sponsorships help keep shelves stocked "so we can provide families with the basics they need to thrive."
Ann Marie Mathis said in 2021 the organization distributed about 100,000 diapers a month, serving 1,200 families and 1,800 children each month.
"In each of the last two years, our distributions exceeded 1 million diapers, and the need just continues to grow," she said.
Atturo, established in 2009, is dedicated to the growing light truck, Jeep, SUV, crossover and muscle car segments of the market.
The company said it will show off its sticky off-road tire compound while helping to support charity at the annual Easter Jeep Safari in Moab. The Red Rock 4-Wheelers (RR4W) will host the 56th annual Jeep Safari April 9-17.
