EDMONTON, Alberta — Private-brand marketer Atturo Tire Corp. has signed a multi-year marketing partnership with the NHL's Edmonton Oilers, expanding its sports marketing in Western Canada.
The company said the agreement reinforces "its commitment to supporting distributors and dealers across the crucial Western Canadian market."
The value nor the exact length of the deal were not disclosed. It's Atturo's second promotional deal with and NHL team: Atturo earlier struck a multi-year sponsorship agreement with the Chicago Blackhawks that will see the Atturo brand featured in a number of promotions, both in-arena and on-air.
Atturo will sponsor the Edmonton Oilers' "Player of the Game," an honor awarded after every victory, the company said. Atturo digital signage will be shown on Oilers' regional and national television broadcasts, as well as dasher board placement in the Rogers Place ice rink.
In addition, a series of radio advertisements will be broadcast during each game and banner ads on the team's official website.
"Western Canada has embraced the Atturo brand with remarkable enthusiasm," Bill Hume, Atturo's Canadian director of sales, said.
"By partnering with one of Canada's most iconic and exciting sports franchises, we aim to build on that momentum. This program complements our broader marketing efforts and underscores our commitment to sustaining the rapid growth we've seen in Western Canada and nationwide."
The Oilers have won five Stanley Cups in franchise history, with hockey Hall of Famer Wayne Gretzky leading the way. Two of the league's best players, Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, lead the current team.
Abe Hajar, vice president of corporate partnerships called Atturo "a fast, high-performance and innovative brand, that we look forward to being a voice for not only in Oil Country, but across Canada."
Atturo said it has experienced "extraordinary growth" in Canada, particularly in the West, over the past year, calling the partnership "a natural next step in supporting that success and further elevating Atturo's visibility and impact."
