LAS VEGAS — Atturo Tire Corp. is expanding its portfolio into the powersports market with the introduction of a pair of tires for this growing off-roading segment.

The Waukegan, Ill.-based private-brand marketer plans to launch the tires, the Trail Blade X/T SxS and Trail Blade BOSS SxS for both sport and recreational side-by-side ultra-terrain vehicles (UTVs) at the upcoming SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

Atturo stresses that while both tires are based on the years of testing, development, racing and consumer feedback of its light truck counterparts, the new tires are designed for the demands of SxS owners and their vehicle.

"Atturo may be new to the powersports market, but we will be a familiar name to the UTV consumer," Atturo President Michael Mathis said.

"Nearly every Side-by-Side owner already owns a truck and will be familiar with the Atturo brand from our years in the market, substantial consumer marketing and success in motorsports".

The new SxS tires feature steel-belted radial construction that will match the demands of today's modern side-by-sides, Atturo said, which increasingly are equipped with sophisticated suspension designs.

Built in segmented molds by the contracted manufacturer yields a stronger, more uniform tire, Atturo said, which offers "superior" durability and puncture resistance, plus better grip compared with nylon-belted competitors using two-piece mold designs.

The new tires' tread patterns are modeled after Atturo's Trail Blade X/T and Trail Blade Boss models, including Atturo's distinct knife blade sidewall designs.

"The Trail Blade X/T SxS is a highly tuned version of our light truck offering," Joe Gomez, marketing manager, said. "This is a tread pattern that has proved to be successful in short-course racing and will be a highly versatile tire for the side-by-side Market when it comes to mixed surfaces such as hard-pack trails, light mud, sand, and can also be studded for ice and snow use."

The Trail Blade Boss SxS is modeled after Atturo's light-truck line of the same name, which the company calls an "overbuilt hardcore off-road tire" that has been used by racers in the King of the Hammers and Baja off-road competitions.

"The SxS version of the tire has an even higher void ratio than the light truck version, and we are confident it can live up to the Trail Blade Boss pedigree," Collin Mikottis, brand experience specialist for Atturo Tire, said.

Atturo anticipates the new tires will be used in competition and is developing a contingency program for SxS UTV competitors in SCORE, Ultra4, Best in The Desert, Great American Short Course, Nor-Cal Rock Racing and more.

Atturo expects to have the Trail Blade X/T SxS on the market in the fourth quarter of 2022, with the Trail Blade Boss SxS to follow in the first quarter of 2023. Pricing will start at $209 for the new tires, which are being manufactured in Taiwan.

Both tires will be available in 14- and 15-inch rim sizes and covering 28- through 35-inch outside diameters.

Atturo is exhibiting at the SEMA Show with a booth (No. 44119) in the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
